What if I cannot afford the classes?
I am very willing to work out a way to make it possible for you to take this class. First of all, I am willing to accept payments. Payment in full by class 10 is preferred. In addition, I am willing to trade services or even reduce the fee if needed. Please call me so we can discuss how to make this work.
What if my husband/birth partner cannot attend the class?
The classes will still be a great benefit to you regardless. However, I strongly encourage you to have someone attend class with you that you can trust and feel comfortable with.
What if I'm not sure I want a natural birth?
This class is not just for those who know they want a natural birth. The information will benefit any mother regardless of whether she chooses medication or not. Many women find that the techniques learned in class were invaluable to helping them especially if their medication did not work for them. If you are still unsure you are welcome to attend the first class free of charge; however, classes are filled on a first come first serve basis according to who has paid their deposit.
What topics do you cover in your class?
I am currently affiliated with the Academy of Husband-Coached Childbirth also known as the Bradley Method. Please see the Bradley Birth website for more details, www.bradleybirth.com.
Classes consist of the following:
Nutrition, Exercises to Prepare for Birth, Comfort Measures for Pregnancy and Labor, Relaxation, The Power of Positive Thinking, Gestation, Physiology of Birth (including First, Second and Third Stages), Medications, Common Interventions, Cesarean Sections, VBAC, Waterbirth, Choosing a Birthplace and Care Provider, Labor Support Options (doulas), Birth Plans, Breastfeeding, Newborn Care, Postpartum Care, and much much more! I really try to make the class fun and interesting with different activities, games and videos. The class also includes an in depth labor rehearsal.
